Daily Tour - Steve

The heart of Canterbury can only be explored on foot and we are proud to offer the only Canterbury tour to guide you through the historic city streets in addition to the Cathedral Precincts.

Our professionally qualified Green Badge Guides will take you on a 90-minute journey into the past through the narrow cobbled streets, medieval lanes, Cathedral Precincts and grounds of the historic King's School* where you’ll hear stories of Canterbury’s many colourful characters including Becket, Chaucer and Marlowe, in addition to pilgrims, plague and peasants’ revolts, and much, much more!

Our dedicated team of local guides are passionate about Canterbury and have many stories to tell! They are experts in making the history come alive, and you will discover the city beyond the guide books.

For more information visit our Tour Highlights page.

Our Canterbury walking tours depart daily from the Buttermarket (opposite the main Cathedral Gate) at 11am throughout the year (except 25th December).
Additional daily 2pm tour runs from 1st April to 31st December & seasonal holidays.

Tickets can be booked in advance and on the day online on our website. Tickets are also available in person on the day from Canterbury Visitor Centre at the Beaney in the High Street and the Roman Museum in Butchery Lane.

Your ticket also entitles you to discounts at other Canterbury attractions and outlets including Canterbury Roman Museum! (see our Discounts and Offers page)

Please note that these daily tours are conducted in English.

At the guide's discretion, visitors are welcome to bring a well-behaved dog on our daily tour.
